Gadjah Mada University
Lecturer/Adjunct-Professor at the Graduate School Gajah Mada University (UGM) is the oldest and the largest University in Indonesia, with 18 Faculties/Schools and 69 under-graduate and 20 graduate programmes. The task of the lecturer is teaching a course on Social Policy at American Studies Programme, and a course on Participatory Planning at Public Policy Programme (Magister Studi Kebijakan/MSK).

Senior Communication Advisor Providing strategic advises to the World Bank’s Country Director, Country Management Team, and External Relations Department at East Asia Vice President Office in Washangton DC, on: 1). Political risks analysis related to the World Bank operation in Indonesia; 2). Communication strategy to reach out to Indonesian civil society actors and opinion makers in Indonesia; 3). Liaising and convening strategic meetings between the World Bank senior management with other development actors from Government, Private Sector and Civil Society Organisations.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-Indonesia Office
Assistant Country Director/Team Leader of the Democratic Governance Unit UNDP Indonesia works to promote democratic governance in the country in three thematic areas: (1) promoting the ‘deepening democracy’ through electoral and parliamentary support, (2) supporting decentralisation and local governance reform, and (3) promoting rights-based legal and justice sector reform. Two cross-cutting issues are embedded in all of democratic governance programme: building trust and integrity of public institutions (corruption prevention), and gender equity. The main role of the team leader is to manage the country programme including development of new programme/projects, quality and timely implementation and delivery of projects, external resource mobilisation, Government relations building and management. The team leader is also acting as the senior advisor to the UNDP’s Resident Representative and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) on democratic governance issues. The Democratic Governance programme annual delivery (2009) was USD 23.6 million, supported by around 20 international and national staff at the country office, and around 77 project staff.

Transparency International Indonesia
Secretary General/CEO Transparency International Indonesia is a National Chapter of Transparency International, a global anti-corruption movement. The role of CEO is to manage all TI-Indonesia operation under the guidance from Indonesian Board. TI-Indonesia operating budget is USD 2 million in 2007, with 68 professional staff working in the Jakarta Secretariat and project sites in 20 districts/municipalities.

United Nations Support Facility for Indonesian Recovery (UNSFIR)
Senior Adviser for Social Policy UNSFIR is a joint project of the Government of Indonesia and UNDP that aims to explore medium and long-term policy options in key areas that are pertinent to Indonesia’s recovery from 1998 economic crisis. It is tasked with the preparation of a series of Framework Documents, including one on a future social policy for Indonesia. The Senior Adviser is managing the Social Policy cluster within UNSFIR team. The job responsibilities include: lead the writing of the draft white paper on social policy; provide input for the National Poverty Reduction Strategy; prepare the National Social Summit where all decision makers in Indonesia will renew the social contract for the provision of basic citizen’s rights; and facilitate the establishment of the Indonesian Public Policy Network (JAJAKI), which will become multi-stakeholders platform for policy debates and consensus building in Indonesia.

Programme Manager for East Asia Oxfam Hong Kong is a member of Oxfam International, a network of non-governmental development organisations committed to work with the poor and marginalised to address the root causes of poverty and suffering. The role of the position is to manage all Oxfam Hong Kong programme in the region. At the time of appointment, Oxfam Hong Kong has an active programme in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Burma, Indonesia, the Philippines and East Timor.

Chief Operating Officer Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia is an innovative collaboration between the international community and Indonesian stakeholders (Government, Corporate sector, and Civil Society Organisations) to facilitate and support governance reform agenda. Operating under auspices of MOU between Government of Indonesia (GOI) and UNDP, the Partnership manages a USD 26 million Trust Fund contributed by bilateral and multilateral donors. The role of COO is to manage the Partnership’s programme and operation in three broad areas: a). generating and disseminating knowledge on good practice in governance; b). coordinating the governance reform efforts of Government, donors, and civil society; and c). funding initiatives to promote reform of governance in Indonesia. There is 32 international and national staff working in the Partnership’s executive office with operational budget of USD 2million, and Trust Fund’s project disbursement exceeding USD 10 million in fiscal year 2002.

Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia
Country Representative The job purpose of the position is to manage Oxfam GB programme in Indonesia in the area of sustainable livelihood, community-based disaster management, and good governance; as well as to represent Oxfam GB to the Government of Indonesia, and other International agencies working in Indonesia. Oxfam GB budget in Indonesia at the time of appointment (1999/00) is exceeding a million GBP, with 39 International and National staff.

Electrowatt Engineering Services, Ltd
Institutional Development Adviser. Yogyakarta Urban Development Project (YUDP). YUDP is a cooperation project between Government of Indonesia and Government of Switzerland implemented by Electrowatt Engineering Services Ltd, Switzerland. The project objective is to provide technical assistance to 3 local governments in planning and implementing urban infrastructure programme. The total 5-year (1993/4-1997/8) investment plan for the participating local government is IDR 128 Billion (approximately USD 62.2 Million at current rate). Sources of funding come from Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC), Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The role of the position is to strengthen local government capacity in managing the urban investment programme through organisational and human resources development support.

University of Guelph, Canada
Institutional Development Adviser Sulawesi Regional Development Project, Phase-2 (1990-95), is a project of the Government of Indonesia being implemented in four provinces of Sulawesi with technical and financial assistance from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). CIDA has contracted the University of Guelph in Ontario as Canadian executing agency to carry out its mandate as stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding between both Governments. The basic function of the University of Guelph’s Training Coordinator is to provide necessary advice and technical assistance on human resources development to the local government planning institutions. Main responsibility includes developing the Project 5-year and annual training plan, provide advice on training need assessment and institutional training plan, review training design and materials, monitor training activities funded by the Project, and maintaining the Project training data-base.

Chief RepresentativeThe basic functions of the position are (1) to manage all project, administrative and financial activities at the field office, and (2) to contribute as necessary to the overall development and implementation of CARE International programme in Indonesia. Main responsibilities include managing all aspects of CARE’s programme implementation, supervising office and field staff, Government relations, and maintaining professional contact with other Non-Government Organisations, both national and international, working in the area. The focus of CARE Southeast Sulawesi programme at the time of appointment is rural water supply and sanitation, and dry land farming system.
